“Serving our neighbors and equipping them in their God-given potential for the good of our community.”

From Students to Staff

Why do you want to work here?

“Because I need to get out the streets and jus get money this summer instead of gettin in trouble.” – AJ (16 yr/old – current student)

“I just want to be around, I don’t care what we’re doing, I just want to work at Eleos.” – Rodney (19 yr/old – former student)

“I want to try something new and help out.” – Quay (16 yr/old – current student)

“I’ll move back to Greenville to work at Eleos. This is where I need to be. I need this in my life right now. I want to give back to my neighborhood, and I know I can do that through Eleos, and I can keep growing. I believe this is what God wants for me. Eleos gives hope to lost individuals. Like I don’t know how to say it, but Eleos encourage me to be the person God chose me to be.” – Bobby (22 yr/old – former student)

These are just some of the things students and former students are saying about their desire to work at Eleos. Nicholtown has been an opportunity desert for so many wonderful and gifted people. Part of our mission is to elevate youth leaders into positions of leadership so they can learn responsibility, and invest back into their community.

Finding gifted students isn’t the problem. Finding the funding to provide employment opportunities is much more challenging. We are committed to providing more formal opportunities for students and former students through internships at Eleos, but we can’t do it without you!

Meet our Newest Team Member!

ZOÉ OLIPHANT : CREATIVE ARTS COORDINATOR

Zoé is the newest member to our team. She’ll be developing our Creative Arts program as our Creative Arts Coordinator. We’ve enjoyed getting to know her, and we want to give you an opportunity to get to know her a bit, as well.

Zoé was kind enough to answer a few questions for us:

Where are you from?

“Born and raised in Greenville, Sc.”

If you could only eat 1 food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“Chick-fil-A; their number one meal with Polynesian sauce.”

Favorite hobby?

“Dancing! Even when there is no music.”

Why are you excited to join the éleos team?

“I love the vision and the heart of Éleos! They are impacting lives and the community one day at a time, one step at a time. I partially grew up in Nicholtown at my Grandmas house. I learned the importance of having a mentor and building relationships within the community. I’m excited to be a part of something that is leaving a lasting mark on the neighborhood.”

Favorite movie?

“Hamilton, Freedom Writers, the Lion King, Black Panther…sorry I have too many.”

Favorite album?

“His Glory Alone by: KB…no skips!”

Moes or chipotle? And why is it chipotle?

“Definitely Moes! Only because I’ve never been to Chipotle.” – Don’t worry, we told her we’ll fix this by hosting our next all staff lunch at Chipotle 😉

We are transitioning to a new giving platform!

We are switching to a new platform that will make online giving easier than ever, and perhaps more importantly, allow us to communicate with our support team more effectively. If you’re a monthly supporter, here’s how this will effect you. After your May donation, we’ll be cancelling your giving plan on our old system. You’ll receive a notification that your giving plan has been cancelled, and you will receive a direct link to sign-up through our new giving platform. It’s that simple.

You might be wondering why we are switching giving platforms. Great question. Our new giving platform will allow us to track giving more accurately, and it will allow us to communicate with supporters more effectively. It’s an all around better tool for our ministry, and we’re pumped to fully utilize it.

Your regular generosity is absolutely crucial to our ministry work. We thank God for you, and we’re so excited to continue partnering with you. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
