Summer 2020:

A creative season in more ways than one.

Spring Improvements Bring Summer Students.

Summer 2020 is going to be one to remember!

Eleos Summer Camp kicks off June 15th, and we couldn’t be more excited! We are anticipating an incredible summer, and we’re making strategic adjustments to our programs to ensure our staff and students can stay healthy and safe.

In addition to planning our summertime activities, we are transforming a vacant unit in our building into a Creative Arts Center—and renovations are underway (hoping to finish by July 1)! We have already put in almost 120 man/woman hours of volunteer work at the space, and we are excited to see the progress we’ve made so far. However, as is becoming quite normal during this strange season, we’ve hit a bump in the road.

Last week, we received a letter from a local foundation informing us they will not be able to support the building project at this time—due, in large part, to the fact that they are allocating funds towards new demands brought on by the COVID-19 crisis. After applying for this grant several months ago (prior to the pandemic), we were hopeful we would receive funds that we could use for our renovation project.

While we completely understand the foundation’s reasoning, we still find ourselves in need of additional funds that will allow us to continue moving full speed ahead to open this creative center for our students.

Here’s how you can help!

  1. Donate your skilled or non-skilled labor. We have volunteer workdays 3 days/week (Mon., Tue., & Thur., from 4-8pm). Please contact our Program Director, Grace to get involved. [email protected]
  2. Donate financial resources that will help us pay for materials and skilled labor. Please contact myself (Cam) to get involved, here. [email protected]
  3. Invite a skilled laborer to donate / discount their services.

If you can help in any way—or know somebody who can—please contact us and let us know.

You are an essential part of what we do at Eleos, and we are so grateful for your continued support. Thanks for enabling us to serve and equip our neighbors in their God-given potential.
